The Youngstown Playhouse will present a gala fundraiser May 19, featuring music by the McClellan siblings, accompanied by Michael J. Moritz Jr.
The McClellans include James, who is operations manager at the Playhouse; Eric and Janeen Williams, who will sing show tunes, pop songs and standards. The trio has been performing together for nearly 25 years, most recently at the DeYor Performing Arts Center.
For the May 19 event, the siblings have created a program featuring a host of favorites from their repertoire, as well as several songs they have never performed. The younger generation of the McClellan family will also make an appearance in the show.
The concert will start at 7:30 p.m.
Moritz is a Boardman native and former musical director of the Playhouse who is now an established producer in New York. His credits include the smash Broadway hit “Beautiful: The Carole King Musical.”
An exclusive pre-concert party will begin at 6 p.m., with hot hors d’oeuvres, an open bar, live music and a meet-and-greet with the evening’s performers. Tickets are $50; to purchase, call the box office at 330-788-8739.
Tickets to the concert-only are $25, and are available at theyoungstownplayhouse.com or by calling the box office.
All proceeds from the event will go toward operations and programming of the Playhouse. The event will take place at the Playhouse, 600 Playhouse Lane, off Glenwood Avenue.
Sponsors include Joe Mineo Creative, Rulli Bros., Kravitz Delicatessen, Courthouse Inn & Restaurant (Lisbon), Carmella’s Cafe, Kelly’s Bar & Grill, Inner Circle Pizza in Poland, Christopher’s Downtown, Holly Powell of Lifestyle Private Chef, and Rondinelli Tuxedo Company.
