Ryan announces $16.2 million for area military bases
WASHINGTON, D.C. — U.S. Rep. Tim Ryan of Howland, D-13th, today announced that Youngstown Air Reserve Station (YARS) will receive $8.8 million and Camp Ravenna will receive $7.4 million.
According to a news release, YARS’s funding will be used for security infrastructure at the base and Camp Ravenna’s funding will go toward a new machine gun range.
The funding is part of the fiscal year 2018 Military Construction and Veterans Affairs Spending bill, according to the release.
Ryan said he was thankful he was able to use his position on the House Appropriations Military Construction and Veterans Affairs Subcommittee “to bring these funds back to our community so that we can make the important investments needed to keep our military facilities on the cutting edge.”
