Wilson Alumni Committee names inductees

The Woodrow Wilson High School Hall of Fame dinner will take place May 26 at Mr. Anthony’s Banquet Center, 7440 South Ave., to honor Wilson graduates for accomplishments and service. The event will benefit the Woodrow Wilson Legacy Scholarship at Youngstown State University. Tickets are $40 per person. Woodrow Wilson High School, with its first graduating class in 1939, was one of six public high schools in Youngstown, serving neighborhoods surrounding its former location at Gibson Street and Indianola Avenue on the South Side. The school was closed in 2007 and razed in 2008.

The Wilson Alumni Committee, which supports the legacy scholarship, has selected 12 inductees. They are: Thomas M. Pokabla, class of 1957; James Burnham, 1959; Nick Milasnovich, 1960; John Anderson, 1969; Patsy Palombo, 1969; Michael Braydich, 1970; Linda Motosko, 1972; Clarence Cipkala, 1975; Brian Meenachan, 1975; Elaine Koutsounaris Ruse, 1979; Basia Adamczak, 2002; and Carole Gale McDonough, teacher and librarian at Wilson.
