Cole Kosco hit a three-run homer in bottom of the seventh inning to win the game. Braeden O’Shaughnessy, Zachary Yaskulka, Jeremy Castro and M.J. Farmer also had two hits for the Bulldogs (6-8), who advance to play West Branch today. For the Irish (6-15), Vince Armeni and Colin Balas had two hits apiece.

HUBBARD

Hayden Parker’s three hits included a double for the Tigers. HE scored a run and drove in another. Frank Rappach scored twice while Dylan Beasom, Frankie Manios and Joey Perfette drove in a run. Dylan Keller scattererd six hits to get the mound win. He whiffed six and walked three. Tim Herberger’s two hits included a double and drove in a run for the Eagles. Evan Jarvis also doubled while Dom Hover drove in a run.

Niles 15, Struthers 4

NILES

Marco DeFalco’s three hits drove in two runs for the Red Dragons. Zach Leonard’s two hits included a double. He scored three runs and drove in four. Nick Guarnieri, David Mays and Luke Swauger each had two hits. For the Wildcats, Stephen Mistovich’s three hits included a double. He scored a run and drove in two. Jared Laczko had three hits and scored once.

Lakeview 4, West Geauga 0

CORTLAND

Austin Vogt allowed just three hits and struck out eight as Lakeview shutout West Geauga. Vogt also had a hit and drove in a run for the Bulldogs. Brendan Kilpatrick and Nick Demonica also had a hit and an RBI each to help the Bulldogs advance in district play. Lakeview will play Jefferson today at 5 p.m. at Jefferson High School.

Western Reserve 10, LaBrae 9

BERLIN CENTER

Brycen Jackson had four hits including a double and he drove in two runs for the Blue Devils (13-8). Garrett Mihalick had two hits and scored three runs while Dom Velasquez and Dan Windham each contributed two hits and two RBIs. For the Vikings, C. Stonemon, M. Roberts, S. Wells and P. Barnhart each had two hits.

West Branch 5, Louisville 2

BELOIT

Brant Alazaus took a shutout into the sixth inning and struck out three as the Warriors (19-4, 10-1 Northeastern Buckeye Conference) beat the Leopards (19-6, 11-1). Alazaus allowed a sixth-inning run and Jon Snyder pitched the seventh for West Branch and allowed Louisville’s other run. Alazaus singled, doubled and drove in a run. Dakota Gurney singled and drove two runs. Tristan Ballard added a double and Jake Lyons singled and drove in a run. Dillon Rebuck and Caleb Prasco drove in the Louisville runs. West Branch will host Poland in a Division II sectional final at 5 p.m. today.

Lisbon 16, Wellsville 1

LISBON

Logan Bell’s two hits included a grand slam. He drove in five runs. Bell, Cameron Summers, Garrett Cox, Blake Reynolds and Tyler Welsh had hits in Lisbon’s 11-run fourth inning.

Mathews 5, Maplewood 3

VIENNA

Brandon Smith singled to put the Mustangs (18-3) ahead in the bottom of the sixth inning. Smith also pitched two shutout innings in relief to earn the win. Dillon Canter and hris Ritz each had two hits. For the Rockets (10-5), Hunter Bates had three hits.

ANDOVER

Three Leopards pitchers — Alex Hlaudy, Shane McKelvey and Brennan Roman — combined for a five-inning no-hitter. The three pitchers combined for eight strikeouts. James Spisak led Liberty (14-8) with three hits, including two doubles, and three RBIs. David Sewell and Brent DiMattia each had two hits and two RBIs.

SEBRING

Clay Nesbeth and Brandon Walters drove in two runs each for Springfield. Drew Clark was the winning pitcher with four strikeouts. Clark added two hits offensively.

South Range 5, Girard 4

BEAVER TOWNSHIP

South Range (11-14) recovered from a first inning 3-1 defecit to defeat Girard. Jared Bajerski led the Raiders attack with three hits. Jake Gehring and Kris Scandy added two hits each. Ben Rivera drove in three runs for the Raiders. Nick DeGregory led Girard (16-6) with two hits.

United 24, Heartland Christian 8

NEW WATERFORD

Ethan Antran had three hits, including a triple to elad United (11-9). Antran drove in three runs as the Golden Eagles rolled past Heartland Christian (3-11). Brady Leyman added a pair of hits and three RBIs and Shane Black added two RBIs. Caleb graff led Heartland Christian with two hits and an RBI. Aaron Gault drove in a run and Devon Firota had a pair of hits and an RBI for Hearltand Christian.

Columbiana 6, Leetonia 2

LEETONIA

Joe Bable led the Clippers offense with two hits, including a double and two RBIs. Hunter Zentner added two base hits and a run for the Clippers. Matt Mazei was the winning pitcher, going all seven innings and striking out six.

POLAND

Sydney Phillips scored five goals for the Bulldogs. Allyson Andrews scored three and Marisa Ricciardi two. Marissa Mangino and Galena Lopuchovsky had the others. Emillie Franco recorded two assists and eight ground balls. Katy Smith had six ground balls while Teresa Detoro, Andrews, Franco and Lopuchovsky each had two interceptions. Goaltender Carly Boccia had a first half shutout and made nine saves.

NEW MIDDLETOWN

Jacqueline Kish pitched a complete game as the Tigers (18-3) won a Division III sectional title. Kish scattered eight hits, struck out nine and walked one. Each Springfield starter had at least one hit. Marlie Applegarth led the way with two singles and a double. Applegarth also drove in two runs and scored once. Kish helped her own cause with three singles, driving in two. Kaelen Yemma hit a solo home run, a towering shot, down the left-field line. Springfield will meet Girard in a district semifinal at 6 p.m. Monday at South Range.

South Range 13, Rootstown 0

BEAVER TOWNSHIP

Freshman Bree Kohler pitched a five-inning perfect game and struck out 13 as the Raiders breezed to a Division III sectional championship. Earlier this season, Kohler pitched a perfect game in a South Range win over East Side (S.C.) during the Raiders’ spring trip to Myrtle Beach. Hope Thomas doubled, homered and drove in four runs and Abbey Bokros singled, doubled and had two RBIs. Marlaina Slabach singled twice for the Raiders and Hanna Dennison and Drew Feren each added a double. Madison Weaver had two RBIs. South Range hosts Akron St. Vincent-St. Mary today in a regular-season game. The Raiders will host Waterloo in a district semifinal at 5 p.m. on Monday.

Kirtland 7, Garrettsville Garfield 6

KIRTLAND

Vernon had three singles and Ungrady had a single, a double and scored four times in the Hornets’ victory. Getchell had a single and 2 RBIs. Garfield’s Hannah Smith had two singles, a double and 4 RBIs and Madi Van Kirk had singled twice and scored two runs.

Waterloo 7, East Palestine 4

EAST PALESTINE

Machayla Kehrer struck out six and had two hits and two RBIs on offense to lead Waterloo (12-3). Amber Cieplinski also had a pair of RBIs and two hits. For East Palestine (13-4) Alisha Dean drove in two runs and had two hits and Lexi Moore also had two hits. Waterloo advances to play top seeded South Range on Monday at 4 p.m. at South Range High School.

McDonald 10, Newbury 0

MCDONALD

Rachel Ward tossed a three-hit shutout, striking out 11 and walking none. Her two hits included a double and she scored once. Katie Donkers and Sierra Schrader had two hits for the Blue Devils (11-4). Sarah Lorello doubled. McDonald advances to host Maplewood today at 5 p.m.

Lowellville 15, Valley Christian 4

LOWELLVILLE

Madison Kelly had two singles, walked, scored twice and stole three bases for the Rockets and KC Kelly doubled twice and stole three bases. Isabella Sotlar singled, tripled, stole two bases, scored three runs and drove in two more. Marissa Lellio and Kira Sontag each doubled and had two RBIs and Olivia Sotlar tripled and scored three runs. Madison Kelly pitched five innings and struck out nine. Valley Christian’s T. Townsend had three hits and scored twice.

LORDSTOWN

The Red Devils’ Jessica Hess threw a one-hitter and struck out six. She did not walk a batter. Jess Wilk had two hits for Lordstown.

Badger 17, Liberty 7

KINSMAN

Erica Ramsey had a go ahead two run triple in the bottom of the fourth inning, with Badger trailing 7-6. They never trailed again after tha point. Ramsey drove in four runs overall. Morgan Orr had three hits to lead Liberty. Badger advances to play Bristol today at 5 p.m. at Bristol High School.

Lisbon 11, Jackson-Milton 1

LISBON

Katy Clark led Lisbon with three hits, including two triples and four RBIs. Hannah Deland added three hits and three RBIs and Autumn Oehlstrom hit a homerun for the Blue Devils. Brooklyn Gallant had a double for Jackson-Milton. Lisbon advances to play East Canton today at 5 p.m. at East Canton High School.

Western Reserve 13, Sebring 0

BERLIN CENTER

Layla Woolf struck out nine for Western Reserve. Arianna Gregorino had two singles and two RBIs for the Blue Devils and Gracie Wayland homered. Western Reserve will play Wellsville today at 5 p.m. at Western Reserve High School.

Champion 20, Grand Valley 0

CHAMPION

It was a day of milestones for the Golden Flashes, who crushed the Mustangs to begin their 2018 tournament run with a sectional title. Champion (21-0) — the defending Division III state champion — won its school-record 29th consecutive game, dating back to May 16, 2017. The victory was the 800th in the history of the Golden Flashes’ softball program, which began in 1978. It was also the 400th career victory for Champion coach Cheryl Weaver, who took over the program in 2000. Allison Smith (11-0) pitched a one-hitter and struck out 14. Emma Gumont and Cassidy Shaffer hit home runs and each of them had two hits. Megan Turner and Sophie Howell also had two hits each. Gumont drove in four runs, while Smith, Turner and Hannah Gresch each had three RBIs. Shaffer and Swipas each drove in two runs. Dani Shreve had a double for GV’s only hit.

Ursuline 8, Austintown Fitch 3

AUSTINTOWN

Emily Holland and Emma Ericson combined on a four-hitter as the Irish (19-4) beat the Falcons (11-9). Destiny Goodnight led Ursuline with three hits, including a triple, and three RBIs. Maris Barbato and Ericson each added two hits while Julia Nutter homered for the Irish. Lainie Simons hit a two-run double and Leeanna Franken has two hits for Fitch.

West Branch 11, Alliance 1

BELOIT

Kelsey Byers pitched a four-hitter and struck out nine as the Warriors (19-1, 11-1 Northeastern Buckeye Conference) beat the Aviators. Jordan Anderson had three hits and Byers had two hits and four RBIs. Delaney Rito added two hits and Grace Heath drove in two runs. Peyton Alazaus doubled and had two RBIs.

Canfield 11, Warren Harding 0

CANFIELD

Chloe Cruz’s double and single drove in four runs for the Cardinals (14-8, 7-1 All-American Conference Red). She scored twice. Kalin Kovach’s two doubles drove in three runs. Crissman’s two hits included a double and she scored three times. For the Raiders (4-12, 1-8), Payton Schuller, Natalie Stanton and Karlie Heilman had singles.

Hubbard 11, Struthers 1

HUBBARD

Jackie Adler had three hits and scored three times while Emma Wukelich had three hits and scored twice for the Eagles. Hannah Kist’s two hits included a double. Nya Thornton and Kayla Chmelik also had two hits. Chmelik tossed a five-hitter, striking out four batters and walking one.

Cardinal Mooney 11, Crestwood 6

MANTUA

Mooney (17-2) came back from a 5-1 defecit to defeat Crestwood (9-6). Brook Chandler led the way with four hits. Kayla Rutherford, Caitie Perry, and Kelly Williams had three hits each, inlcunding Perry’s 10th homerun of the season. Kayla Rutherford struck out seven to get the win.

Marlington 14, Salem 2

SALEM

Taylor Gerback and Laura Kohman homered as part of a 14 run fourth inning for Marlington. Elly Exline had a pair of hits for Salem.
