Warren shooting results in city's third homicide of 2018

WARREN

Warren police responded to a complaint of gunshots about 3 a.m. today in the 200 block of Idylwild Northeast and found a dead man, the victim of a gunshot victim.

The victim’s name was withheld pending notification of his family.

Detectives are investigating the shooting, according to Det. W. A. Mackey.

If ruled a homicide, it will become the third in Warren this year. Youngstown also has recorded three homicides, and are investigating a possible fourth from the weekend. Police on Friday found the body of a young woman in a trash can on the South Side. The identity of the victim has not yet been released.
