New safety system launches today
The West Branch Local School District will implement its new RAPTOR system at each school building’s main entrance in an effort to keep students and staff safe at all times. All doors are locked, and the only entrance is the main doors, for which anyone wishing to enter must have their driver’s license, sign in at the office and wear a visitor’s badge. The system will be fully operational today.
RAPTOR is a registration system that enhances the school security by reading visitor driver’s licenses, comparing information to a sex-offender database, and alerting campus administrators if a match is found. It also will alert staff to any pending legal issues or confidential custodial arrangements.
