BOARDMAN

Several neighborhood residents told police they heard two gunshots and saw a car speed away Tuesday afternoon on Cook Avenue.

The man who alerted police said he heard the gunshots about 4 p.m. and looked outside to see two males get into a black Volkswagen and speed away.

Officers reported seeing the black Volkswagen as they entered the neighborhood.

Officers found two bullet holes in the siding of a Cook Avenue duplex and two shell casings near where the neighbor reported seeing the Volkswagen. The bullets did not penetrate the home.

Police contacted both occupants of the duplex and neither themselves believed to be the intended target of the shooting.
