Library to host events


Lepper Library, 303 E. Lincoln Way, will host Mystery Book Club at 6 p.m. Thursday. Readers will pick from author Greg Iles. The Writers Group will take place at 1 p.m. Saturday. An apron craft will be offered at 6 p.m. Monday with a $2 fee for supplies and one-on-one computer help will be available from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday and May 14 and 21. Library will host 'Recipe Sampler'


The Friends of the East Palestine Memorial Public Library, 309 N. Market St., will host a “Recipe Sampler” event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday in the community room. Patrons and friends of the library have compiled a cookbook of tried-and-true recipes.

All are welcome to sample many of the recipes. Cookbook cost is $10 and will be available at the event. For information, call 330-426-3778.

Students invite senior citizens to lunch


Jackson-Milton Elementary School is inviting senior citizens to its annual Senior Citizens Luncheon at 11:30 a.m. May 17. Sixth-grade student council members will serve lunch and fifth- and sixth-grade band members will play songs. Senior citizens who want to attend need to reserve a spot by Friday by calling 330-538-2257.

Program on chocolate planned at library


The Salem Public Library, 821 E. State St., will host its Play with Your Food program in the Quaker Room at 6:30 p.m. Monday. Participants will learn about chocolate, its history and some of the ways it is used. J.R. Straley, culinary arts instructor at Columbiana County Career and Technical Center, will present the program assisted by some of his students.
