YSU baseball moves UIC opener to Friday


The Youngstown State baseball team will have another series affected by weather this weekend at Eastwood Field.

Due to rain in Thursday's forecast, the series against UIC has been pushed back one day and now will begin on Friday.

The Penguins and Flames will play a doubleheader on Friday at 1 p.m.. First pitch on Saturday remains at 1 p.m.

This is the third straight weekend that the Penguins have had the first game of a Horizon League series postponed due to weather. Youngstown State also had non-conference road games at Pittsburgh and Toledo postponed, and the game at Kent State was shortened to seven innings because of weather.
