Phantoms fall to Stars in shootout

LINCOLN, NEB.

The Lincoln Stars outscored the Youngstown Phantoms 3-2 in a shootout for Saturday’s 2-1 victory.

The Phantoms escape Nebraska with one point in the standings thanks to Tommy Parrottino’s power-play goal with 45 seconds remaining in regulation that forced overtime. The goal was unassisted.

Mike Regush and Eric Esposito scored in the shootout for Youngstown.

Goaltender Ivan Prosvetov made 36 saves in regulation and the overtime.

Next weekend, the Phantoms will play in Plymouth, Mich., on Friday against Team USA, then open a five-game homestand at the Covelli Centre on Saturday with a rematch with the Nationals.
