Eastern Gateway takes doubleheader Monday


The Eastern Gateway baseball team swept a doubleheader Monday from Allegheny-Boyce Community College, 4-2 and 10-4 for their fourth consecutive win.

In the opener, the Gators (4-2) managed just two hits with Jake Rudzik’s single plating two runs and Kyle Campbell getting the other hit.

Dakota Bingham struck out five and evened his record at 1-1 while Rudzik picked up his first save.

In the nightcap, Bingham’s three-run double highlighted a five-run third inning for the Gators as Campbell worked 4 1/3 innings, struck out three and picked up the win to even his record at 1-1.

Bingham and Dylan Kurcon each had two hits and Kurcon scored three times.
