Hot Heads to host Dine to Donate event

Hot Head Burritos throughout the Mahoning Valley will host a Dine to Donate fundraising event to benefit Akron Children’s Hospital Mahoning Valley from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday. When the event flyer is presented, 30 percent of sales will be donated to Akron Children’s Hospital Mahoning Valley.

Patrons may present either a printout of the flyer or show the flyer on a mobile device. All funds raised will stay in the Mahoning Valley to benefit local children. Participating locations include: Boardman, 362 Boardman Poland Road; Canfield, 1393 Boardman-Canfield Road; Austintown, 5450 Mahoning Ave.; Niles, 5655 Youngstown Warren Road; and Hermitage, 3362 E. Austintown AARP 4339 will meet today


Austintown AARP 4339 will meet at 1 p.m. today at the Austintown Senior Center. Guests are welcome. Ellen Spicher will speak on attracting butterflies to outdoor areas. March birthdays and anniversaries will be celebrated and 2018 dues will be collected. Tickets to the spring luncheon at Davidson’s Restaurant May 8 will be available for purchase. Library will host ‘Read to SomeBunny’


Girard Free Library, 105 E. Prospect St., will be the site of the “Read to SomeBunny” reading program, sponsored by Bunnies in Baskets therapy bunnies, at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday. Bunnies also will be at Austintown Library, 600 S. Raccoon Road, at 6:30 p.m. March 27.

Sutliff Museum to host new series


Sutliff Museum will host the “Nurturing Pathways to Freedom” lecture series beginning at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Thomas Meeting Room, second floor of the Warren-Trumbull County Public Library, 444 Mahoning Ave. Deanda Johnson will speak on “Stampeding to Freedom: Escaping Slavery in the Ohio Borderlands.” Doors open at 1:30.
