Zetts’ 50th honored with surprise party

Mr. and Mrs. Jerome Zetts of Poland were honored for their 50th wedding anniversary at a surprise party Sept. 23, 2017, at the home of their daughter in Canfield.

The celebration was hosted by their children, Valerie (Todd) Commons of Canfield, Laurie Zetts of Boardman and Rosemary Zetts of Las Vegas. Three grandchildren complete their family.

The former Antoinette Trimble and Mr. Zetts were married Sept. 30, 1967, at Holy Family Church in Poland, where the couple are members.

Mrs. Zetts was a book clerk and switchboard operator at First Place Bank in Youngstown. She retired in 1999.

Mr. Zetts retired in 2001 from First Place Bank where he was a loan officer. He works part-time as a courier for Valley Care. He also is a member of St. John the Baptist Church, its men’s club and choir. He is a member of Baseball Old-Timers and played baseball for the Stuttgart Chiefs while serving in the U.S. Army.
