Shooting in Warren
Police continue investigating the shooting of a 20-year-old man of Fourth Street Southwest, who suffered a major injury and was treated Thursday afternoon at Trumbull Regional Medical Center. The victim told police he was wounded in the 600 block of Woodbine Avenue about 2:45 p.m. He said friends transported him to the hospital in a car.
Pi Day Challenge
A 3.14 mile PI Day Trail Run Challenge will be at 10 a.m. today at the Mahoning County Career and Technical Center campus on Palmyra Road in honor of Pi Day. This race has been organized by the students in the culinary, cosmetology and creative arts programs at MCCTC to raise money for local food banks in the area. The course will cover pavement, grassy fields and muddy trails on the MCCTC campus. T-Shirts are guaranteed to all participants pre-registered. Those who finish the race will receive a pie, and there will be winners in all age groups. Pre-registration is $25 or $30 the day of the event.

Inclusive egg hunt set
The Walnut Grove, a Canfield nonprofit, is organizing an inclusive egg hunt for children of any physical capability. The outdoor and indoor egg hunts will be at Rulli Bros. Market, 8025 South Ave., March 18. The outdoor hunt is 2 p.m., and indoor is 3 p.m. Organizers are accepting donations of candy, plastic eggs and nonfood items for prizes. Parents can register their children by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org with name, phone number and any accommodation information.
Phantom Fireworks team members are volunteering some of their time today when they will serve meals and otherwise assist at Our Community Kitchen, 551 Mahoning Ave., between Mahoning and Marshall Street. Another volunteer opportunity is scheduled for next Saturday.
