Lincoln Way, on March 12 at 6 p.m. She recently released her 16th novel, “Unlikely Alliances.” She will host an informal talk on her books with a question and answer session and a book signing. Mid-East Ohio College Fair set at Mount Union

ALLIANCE

The University of Mount Union will host the Mid-East Ohio College Fair from 6 to 7:30 p.m. March 13 in the Peterson Field House, 1972 Clark Ave. Junior and senior high school students and their parents are invited to meet with college admission representatives from more than 30 universities. There will be an opportunity to ask questions, attend financial aid sessions, learn more about the next steps in the college admissions process and learn how to maximize scholarship opportunities.

Performance to benefit church pantry

Grace United Methodist Church will host a performance of “Church Basement Ladies” on March 14 at Trumbull New Theater, 5883 Youngstown-Warren Road, as a fundraiser for the church food pantry. Tickets are $16 and include refreshments. The theater doors open at 6 p.m. and the curtain goes up at 7. The food pantry, coordinated by 2017 community star Shirley Frazier, serves more than 100 families per month. Tickets can be purchased by calling Mary at 330-856-5226 or Evelyn at 330-506-0049. No refunds will be issued. The theater is handicapped-accessible.

Lodge 66 officers

YOUNGSTOWN

St. George Lodge 66 of the Croatian Fraternal Union of America, 3200 Vestal Road, recently swore in its 2018 officers. The officers are Timothy Komara, president; Joe Vukovich Jr., vice president; Patricia Moran, secretary/treasurer; Daveen Van Brocklyn, recording secretary; and Louise Thomas, nest manager. Trustees are Dave Ivko, Linda LaGamba and Charlie Krusec.

Anonymous donation helps nonprofit

An anonymous donation, in the amount of $ 1,000, was recently gifted to The Anthony V. Spano Foundation. The money will go to the Helping In Need Fund. This fund is specifically for the Anthony V. Spano Foundation and was set up to positively affect the lives of individuals and/or families in need by providing, both directly and through qualifying institutions, the financial assistance necessary to achieve a better quality of life.
