Fitch band will present concert


Austintown Fitch Band will host its annual concert at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Fitch High School auditorium, 4560 Falcon Drive. The concert will feature the freshman, concert and symphonic bands. Admission to the concert is $5 for adults and $3 for senior citizens 65 and older and students.

The band has been selected to perform at the National Cherry Blossom Parade on April 14 in Washington, D.C., and during the trip, will lay a wreath at the Vietnam Wall in honor of Fitch graduates who gave their lives in service to the nation.

Area nonprofit receives $10K grant


Sight for All United has received a grant for $10,000 from The Walter E. and Caroline H. Watson Foundation. These funds will be used to support the group’s mission, which is to help all people in the Mahoning Valley achieve their best vision.

The nonprofit organization is supported by more than 40 Doctors for Sight and was founded by Dr. Sergul Erzurum and Karen Segesto in August 2016. Sight for All United has provided services to 61 residents of Trumbull, Mahoning, and Columbiana counties, including cataract surgeries, intravitreal injections, glaucoma procedures, cross-linking surgeries, eyeglasses, and more. They have also provided financial support of more than $100,000 in vision services. In addition, 85 children in the Youngstown area received services.

Aut Mori Grotto to host chili cook-off


Aut Mori Grotto will host a chili cook-off on March 15 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Grotto Hall, 563 N. Belle Vista Ave, This is an all-you-can eat event for $5 per person. Aut Mori Grotto is a nonprofit service organization that supports and provides funding for dental care for disabled children, cerebral palsy research, Akron Children’s Hospital and Sojourner House.
