Dinner will be prelude to show
The Jeanne D. Tyler Grand Ballroom at Stambaugh Auditorium will be the location for a Southern-style dinner that is a prelude to the Gershwins’ “Porgy & Bess,” on March 9. Dinner will take place at 5:30 p.m. and includes crackers with pimiento cheese spread, handmade coleslaw, slow-cooked lima beans, creamy grits, crispy fried okra, country fried steak, a shrimp boil and homemade cornbread. Dessert will feature peach cobbler with fresh whipped cream and coffee. There also will be an open bar available. Tickets are available at the Florence and Ward Beecher box office at Stambaugh Auditorium.
“Porgy & Bess” will begin at 7:30 and is being produced by Opera Western Reserve in association with The Warren Philharmonic Orchestra.
