‘Prophetic Unveiling Conference’ scheduled
Triedstone Baptist Church, 2045 Jacobs Road, will host “The Prophetic Unveiling Conference,” presented by the International Brotherhood of Christian Men in conjunction with Pastors Wayne L. Penny Sr. and Prophetess Dieldra L. Penny of Perfecting Faith International.
The public is invited to witness through revelation the prophetic unveiling from the spirit of truth by the written word of God. There will be a community prayer at 5 p.m. today. The conference will take place at 10 a.m. Monday. Rev. David Moncrief is the host pastor.
St. Pat’s in Hubbard celebrates 150 years
Hubbard St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, 225 N. Main St., celebrated the opening of its 150th anniversary year at Mass on June 10. Mass began with a call to worship on the church’s portico.
There was a 150-balloon liftoff, attached with the prayers of thanksgiving and petition for the St. Pat’s Parish family, relatives and friends.
The theme for the yearlong observance of the sesquicentennial anniversary is “Generously God has blessed us. Graciously we respond.” Currenty, a 150th Anniversary cookbook is in the works that will include favorite recipes of parishioners.
Blessing of orchard
Parishioners at Youngstown St. Patrick Church, 1410 Oak Hill Ave., recently proceeded from morning Mass to attend the blessing of a mini apple orchard planted by the Ohio State Extension Service. The church was one of four sites selected, one on each side of town, to participate in the planting. The types of trees planted were Enterprise Apple Dwarf and Gold Rush Apple Dwarf.

Nun celebrates her 50th Jubilee
A sister of Providence of Saint Mary-of-the-Woods, Ind., who is from Youngstown is celebrating her 50th Jubilee this year. Sister Jan Craven currently ministers as the co-director of Providence Spirituality and Conference Center and Director of Shrines at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods.
Sister Jan entered the Ursuline Community Sept. 15, 1968. She transferred her vows to the Sisters of Providence on July 4, 1981. She earned a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Youngstown State University and a master’s degree in theology from Fordham University. She also earned a master’s degree in religion from Claremont University.
Villa Maria center plans summer camps

Praying Sisters to host retreat for women
The Praying Sisters of Phillips Memorial Baptist Church will host a retreat titled “Empowering Women Together” from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Elm Tree Catering Hall, 170 Walton Ave.

New Bethel Baptist to mark anniversary
New Bethel Baptist Church, 1507 Hillman St., will celebrate its 94th anniversary at 5 p.m. Sunday. The Rev. Michael Harrison and congregation of Union Baptist Church on the city’s North Side will be the special guests.
The theme for the event is “Transformed into His Image, As We Serve for His Glory.” A video honoring deceased members will be played from 4:30 to 5 p.m.
Pastor will be ordained, installed
The Rev. David P. Wyant of Austintown will be ordained and installed at Bethel Church of the Brethren, 4023 E. Calla Road, on Sunday after a congregational vote and will begin serving as the church’s bi-vocational pastor.
Rev. Wyant has been the church’s interim pastor since Sept. 2017 and will continue to lead the weekly 11 a.m. service at the church.
There will be a missionary service at 10:45 a.m. Sunday at The Faith Fellowship Church of God, 388 E. Midlothian Blvd.
Max and Debbie Thompson, leaders of an orphanage in Liberia, Africa, will be speaking. Pastor Jonathan and Joyce Mitchel will lead the service. The public is invited to attend. A luncheon will follow the service.
‘Praying with Clay’ conference retreat
VILLA MARIA, PA.
Villa Maria Education and Spirituality Center, 2067 Evergreen Road, will host a conference retreat with Paulette Kirschensteiner titled “Praying with Clay.”
The retreat is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. July 8 and conclude at noon July 12. The cost is $215 and includes the retreat, lodging, supplies and meals/refreshments from a light supper Sunday to lunch Thursday.

The formal diocesan investigation for the Cause of Beatification and Canonization of the Servant of God Rhoda Wise will close July 6. The Acts of the Case will be presented and sealed for transport to Rome at a 10 a.m. Mass to take place at St. Peter’s, 726 Cleveland Ave. NW, on July 7, the 70th anniversary of her death.
The main celebrant will be Monsignor Robert Siffrin, Vicar General of the diocese. The celebration will continue with a Eucharistic holy hour, recitation of the rosary and the opportunity of confession after Mass.
