The Green Team recently announced the winners of the annual placemat contest. Students accepted their awards at the Mahoning County Commissioners’ meeting May 10. This year’s winners are, in first grade - Alexis Martig of Western Reserve Elementary (first place), Silvia Molinar of Holy Family School (second place) and Gavin Sentner of Western Reserve Elementary (third place); in second grade - Payton Ramos of West Boulevard Elementary (first place), Isabel Wargacki of Western Reserve Elementary (second place), Olivia Forsythe of West Boulevard Elementary (third place); in third grade - Ava Acevado of West Boulevard Elementary (first place), Alexandra Pappalardo of South Range Elementary School (second place) and Samantha Cannon of Dobbins Elementary School (third place); in fourth grade - Matthew McCune of Damascus Elementary School (first place), Calee Ruthrauff of Damascus Elementary School (second place) and Alli Kanagy of Damascus Elementary School (third place); in fifth grade - Elena Bullen of Struthers Middle School (first place), Addyson Miller of Holy Family School (second place) and Caleb Phillips of Western Reserve Elementary (third place); in sixth grade - Genevieve Wulzen of Struthers Middle School (first place), Bree Latell of Holy Family School (second place) and Ka’mari James of Struthers Middle School (third place); in seventh grade - Sara Merzic of Glenwood Junior High School (first place), Mahum Imran of Glenwood Junior High School (second place) and Morganne Evans of Glenwood Junior High School (third place); and in eighth place - Asia Baker of St. Nicholas School (first place), Grace Raymer of Holy Family School (second place) and Zachary Hryb of Holy Family School (third place).
