Illegal border crossings in May top 50K

NEW YORK

U.S. Border Patrol agents made 51,912 arrests in May for illegal crossings, the third month in a row the number has topped 50,000 amid a new “zero tolerance” policy.

The border arrest figures are made up of people who are stopped at land crossings and other official points of entry, according to federal data.
