Seminarian Simon Mino will be ordained a Transitional Deacon for the Diocese of Youngstown today. The ordination ceremony will take place at St. Columba Cathedral, 159 Rayen Ave., at 10:30 a.m. Simon will be ordained by The Most Reverend Martin J. Amos, Bishop of Emeritus of Davenport, Iowa.
Church will celebrate pastor and first lady
We Walk By Faith Bible Church, 1636 Himrod Ave., will celebrate the 22nd appreciation of Pastor Roney and first lady Shirley Tucker on June 10.
The morning service will begin at 10 a.m. with guest speaker Pastor Corinthia Reynolds of Born Again Ministries. The afternoon service will begin at 5 p.m. with guest speaker Pastor John Terry Allen.

Special Mass to honor wedding anniversaries
The Very Reverend Monsignor Robert Siffrin, Vicar General and Moderator of the Curia of the Diocese of Youngstown, will celebrate a special Mass at 2 p.m. Sunday at St. Columba Cathedral, 159 W. Rayen Ave., to mark the wedding anniversaries of 154 couples who are being honored for a total of 7,531 years of wedded life ranging from 25 to 72 years. The Unity Centre for Spiritual Living, 1226 Naylor Lloyd Road, will offer a series of classes on “Meditation and Mindfulness.” This series of six classes will be conducted by Patti Turchon and will be at 6:30 p.m. Mondays, beginning Monday until July 9. The fees for the classes are $36, payable in advance to the center. Attendees will need a folder, notebook and a pillow. Chairs will be provided if you are not able to sit on the floor. There will be a Catholic-Orthodox Dialogue sponsored by the Society of St. John Chrysostom’s Youngstown-Warren Chapter from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at St. Maron’s Catholic Church, 1555 S. Meridian Road.
The topics will be “The History of the Filioque Problem” and “How Western Scholasticism changed the theological/philosophical approach inherited from the Fathers of the Church.” Father David Fisher, Maronite Catholic priest and theologian, is the speaker.

Showcased in recital
The Sean Baran Studio will be showcased by the William Holmes McGuffey Historical Society in the annual summer recital, Music in the Afternoon, at 2 p.m. June 10 at Boardman United Methodist Church, 6809 Market St.
The program will feature Sean Baran, studio founder, alone with violinist Jay Koziorynsky and pianist Joel Kreuzwieser. The program is free and open to the public. St. Anthony’s Relics
St. Charles Borromeo Roman Catholic Church, 7345 Westview Drive, will host St. Anthony’s Relics from his Basilica in Padua, Italy, on June 12.
The relics will be accompanied by Friar Mario Conte from the Messenger of St. Anthony is Padua. The Mass/Novena will begin at 7 p.m., and an evening veneration will begin at 8 p.m.

Summer day camps

Registrations are being accepted for two summer day camps for children and youth at Villa Maria Education and Spirituality Center, 2067 Evergreen St.
Children age 5 to 10 are invited to choose Thursday or Friday sessions for GROW Camp, which is a once-a-week gardening and outdoor activities camp from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. beginning June 14 or 15 until Aug. 9 or 10.
