Woman charged with ID theft at West Side bank

Police said Tareana Butler, 31, faces identity-theft charges after she tried to use a stolen ID at PNC Bank on South Meridian Road on Friday while the owner of the ID was in the building, according to 21 WFMJ-TV. The Vindicator’s broadcast partner.

A bank teller alerted the ID owner, who was getting her accounts changed, that Butler tried to cash a check with the ID. Police arrested Butler after she ran toward a nearby Auto Zone.
