Tri-Gold Prime Time ABWA to meet
CANFIELD
Tri-Gold Prime Time Chapter of ABWA will meet Wednesday at A La Cart Catering, Canfield. The Tri-Gold Prime Time Chapter is the combination of two chapters, the Gold Torch Chapter and the Tri-County Chapter.
A social will take place at 5:30 p.m., and dinner will follow at 6. Menu includes Swiss chicken, baked pork chops with stuffing, mashed potatoes, buttered green beans, assorted salads, rolls and butter, tea, coffee and pie will be served for dessert. Cost is $18.
Officers for next year have been elected and will be installed.
Members are reminded to take items for the September basket auction. Guests are welcome. For information, call Dolores at 330-757-9368.
Expo Center to host motor show Saturday
GIRARD
The Metroplex Motor Show, hosted by the Metroplex Expo Center, 1620 Motor Inn Drive, will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. The event will feature indoor and outdoor exhibits, food trucks and a 50-50 raffle hosted by Veteran’s Outreach. Admission is $4 per person or $10 per car load.
The cost to enter a vehicle is $10. Each registrant will receive a promotional bag. T-shirts will be given to the first 100 vehicles registered. The gate opens at 8:30 a.m. Vehicles must be parked by noon to be considered for awards.
Winners will be announced at 2:30 p.m. Registrants are asked to stay for the entire show.
Nominations sought for Philanthropy Day
Nominations for the Mahoning-Shenango Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professional’s 2018 National Philanthropy Day awards are now being accepted in the following categories: outstanding philanthropist (individual or family); outstanding corporate philanthropist (for-profit corporation or corporate foundation); outstanding small business philanthropist (100 employees or fewer); outstanding volunteer fundraiser (individual); outstanding volunteer fundraising group (volunteer group); outstanding young philanthropist (individual or group, 18 and under); and the legacy award (presented posthumously to an individual or family).
Nomination forms and expanded descriptions of each award criteria are available at www.afpmash.org or by sending an email to afpmash@gmail.com. Nominations are due by 5 p.m. Friday for consideration and should be directed to AFP, P.O. Box 672 Youngstown, OH 44501 or emailed to afpmash@gmail.com.
To be eligible, nominees must reside in Mahoning, Trumbull or Columbiana Counties or in Mercer or Lawrence Counties. The award ceremony will take place Nov. 16 at Mr. Anthony’s in Boardman.
Museum to host guided bus tour
CORTLAND
The Sutliff Museum, as part of its Underground Railroad Tours, will host a bus trip to Cleveland July 29. There will be stops at St. John Episcopal Church and Woodland Cemetery on the on-bus guided tour.
The bus will depart from the Walmart, 2016 Millenium Blvd., at 8:30 a.m. and will return by 3 p.m. Cost is $47 and includes transportation, admissions, snacks, guides and insurance.
