COACHING

Canfield — is looking for a head coach of its baseball program. The selectee will be in charge of the baseball program, including freshman, JV and varsity squads. Duties will include compiling a staff, overseeing out-of-season player training and coordinating with the school’s booster group, in addition to regular in-season coaching. Irish Football Camp — will be Monday and Tuesday from 9 a.m.-noon at the Watson and Tressel Training Site, Youngstown State University. Cost is $65. Each camper will receive the following: Under Armour Visor, Camp t-shirt & Pizza on Tuesday. SOFTBALL

Steel Valley Storm has scheduled tryouts for Aug. 3-4 at Boardman High School. Age-groups and tryout dates are: 10U, Aug. 3, 5:30-7:30 p.m.; 12U, Aug. 3, 7-8:30 p.m.; 14U, Aug. 4, 10-11:30 a.m.; and 16U, Aug. 4, 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Rain dates are Aug. 15 from 6-7:30 p.m. For more information, visit the website www.steelvalleystorm.com.

TRACK AND FIELD

YSU Summer Day Camps — for ages 5-12 is set on Thursday from 9 a.m.-noon at the Watson and Tressel Training Site. Cost is $20 for YSU employees and $30 for non-YSU employees. Register at www.PenguinsTrackCamps.com. YSU also will host a Summer Night High Jump & Throws Camp on Friday from 6-9 p.m. at the WATTS. Cost is $85. Register at www.PenguinsTrackCamps.com. YSU’s Summer Day Camps run from Friday-July 15 from 8:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. at the WATTS. Each day is a separate camp. Cost is $85. Campers can attend two camps for $150 or all three for $215. Camp coaches are Katrina Brumfield (camp director, jumps coach), Conner Neu (throws coach), John Seaver (throws coach) and David Townsend (springs/hurdles coach).
