During a special board meeting on May 31, the Austintown Board of Education approved to appoint Ryan Ghizzoni as the new Treasurer for the district, effective Aug. 1.
Ghizzoni will work on a consultant/interim basis until his contract begins.
“Ryan has an impeccable reputation within the State of Ohio and his forward thinking, technology driven approach is going to be a great addition to Austintown Local Schools,” said Board President Don Sherwood.
Ghizzoni began his career with the Auditor of State’s Office and has served as a school district treasurer for the past 15 years. He is currently the Treasurer/CFO of the Berea City School District, a consultant for Public Resource Finances, serves as the President of the Ohio Association of School Business Officials and chairs the ASBO Meritorious Budget Award Advisory Committee, as well as, being a national budget reviewer.
During his career, he has also served as Treasurer/CFO of the Stow Munroe Falls City School District, the Lorain City School District and the Fairview Park City School District. He has been the recipient of 9 Association of School Business Officials International Meritorious Budget Awards (ASBO) and was the recipient of the Ohio Association of School Business Officials 2011 Outstanding Treasurer of the Year Award. He is a past President of the Northeast Ohio Association of School Business Officials and has served on numerous local, state and national committees. He has a Bachelor of Business Administration from the Youngstown State University and is a Certified Administrator of School Finance and Operations.
He currently resides in Austintown with his wife, Megan, and three children, Garrett, Christopher and Ryley.
