Oakland Center kids present ‘Hobbit’ parody

The Oakland Center for the Arts’ Kids First Program will present “The Hobbit, A Classroom Parody,” based on J.R.R Tolkien’s “The Hobbit.”

The play was written by Jim Canacci of Youngstown and is being directed by David El’Hatton.

There will be six performances over two weekends: 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and Feb. 2 and 3; and 2:30 p.m. Sunday and Feb. 4. It will take place at Trinity Fellowship Church, 4749 South Ave.

Tickets are $12 ($8 for students of any age) at the door, or in advance; call 330-406-0606.

The principal roles are being played by Robert K. Ellway, Aubrey DeJacimo and Savanna Watkins. Round.
