YOUNGSTOWN

The Rescue Mission of the Mahoning Valley will kick off a yearlong celebration commemorating its 125 years with an open house Jan. 25.

“The community is welcome to visit the mission on ‘One-Twenty Five’ (1/25) to give thanks with us for 125 years of homeless ministry in our Valley,” officials said in a press release.

Doors will open at 4 p.m. at the shelter at 962 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. for refreshments, tours and mingling with staff. Free parking will be available across from the mission.

For more information about the open house, contact the mission at 330-744-5485 during regular business hours.

Much more than just “three hots and a cot,” mission leaders say they hope many will visit and learn about the services, programs and community collaboration going on at Mahoning County’s only emergency shelter.

Possible charges

WARREN

Police say they will consult with the Warren prosecutor today to determine whether to file felonious- assault charges against a man, 32, of Youngstown, being held in the Trumbull County jail after a woman said he assaulted her and threatened her with a gun.

The woman said she and the man argued at the man’s apartment on Victoria Street Southwest at 11:49 p.m. She said he pulled a gun and attacked her. She said she got the gun from him and fired it a couple of times before the man fled. Police saw the man driving from the scene and arrested him on suspicion of felonious assault.

The woman, 30, of Warren, was taken to St. Joseph Warren Hospital for treatment of pain to her arm and ears.

Company expansion

HUBBARD

Local heating, ventilation and air conditioning company Gault Heating Inc. has expanded. On Jan. 1, Gault acquired David’s Heating Co. of Poland and DeMay Heating and Cooling of Masury.

The moves add six employees and four service vehicles and expands Gault’s service area.

“Now, we will be able to service the Valley even more efficiently,” said owner Glenn Gault.

Customers of David’s and DeMay’s can continue to use the same phone numbers.
