Men’s Garden Club of Youngstown to host Winter Seminar

Men’s Garden Club of Youngstown will host its 13th annual Winter Seminar from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Feb. 17 at Fellows Riverside Gardens, 123 McKinley Ave. The event is being co-sponsored by Mill Creek MetroParks. The theme is “Think Big, Think Small, Think FallTastic – How to Create the Garden That Lives Inside of Us, Big or Small.” The event will feature two special guest speakers.

Marianne Willburn, award-winning columnist, master gardener and author of “Big Dreams, Small Gardens,” will present a motivational and informative speech about her book and the topic “Garden Maintenance for Real Life.”

Scott Beuerlein, horticulturist at the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden, manages the garden’s outreach and is involved with plant trials, education and community projects, and runs the zoo’s annual horticulture symposiums. He will speak about “Spring Signs but Fall Rocks” and “The Sculptor’s Garden.” He also writes the “Only in Ohio” column for Ohio Gardener Magazine.
