CLASSES

Struthers High School Class of 1956 will meet at 10 a.m. Saturday at What’s Cookin’ on South Ave. Boardman.

The Rayen School Class of 1959 will meet for its monthly luncheon at noon Wednesday at Chad Anthony’s, 4698 Belmont Ave., Liberty. All classmates, spouses and guests are welcome. The group meets the third Wednesday of each month.

Friends of Fellows Riverside Gardens, Flowers of Philly garden travel tour will take place March 2 to 4. The tour will include Philadelphia’s Magic Gardens, the Brandywine River Museum of Art and Longwood Gardens. Cost is $535 for nonmembers and $495 for FFRG members. D.A.R.E. Singles Group meets at 7:30 p.m. every Thursday at Disciples Christian Church, 565 Boardman-Canfield Road. SOCIETIES

Austintown Historical Society's annual president's dinner is scheduled for 6 p.m. Feb. 7 at Davidson's Restaurant. The evening will feature Wade Schisler as he shares his recollections related to the “Pogey,” also known as the old county home, “The Infirmary,” poor house and old folks home. Boardman Historical Society will meet at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Boardman Library, 7680 Glenwood Ave. Bill Farragher, creator of the Youngstown Sheet and Tube trademark, will retell the decline of the Mahoning Valley steel industry. Mahoning County Chapter of the Ohio Genealogical Society will meet for its monthly meeting at 7 p.m. Monday at St. Charles Church ministry building, 7325 Westview Drive, Boardman. Poland Historical Society will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Little Red Schoolhouse, 4515 Center Road (Route 224). After the business meeting, Dave Smith will present a program on “Poland 100 Years Ago.” Membership dues are $10. SUPPORT GROUPS

Crossroads Hospice Charitable Foundation is sponsoring a grief support group to help people move beyond the pain of any loss and achieve healing. Each meeting is facilitated by certified grief recovery specialists and is free of charge. The meetings will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursdays through Feb. 22 at Touch Heaven Church, 10 Skyline Drive, Canfield. For information or to register, call 330-899-9100. Grief Recovery Instructional Support Groups will meet at 7 p.m. Jan. 23 at the Kelley-Robb-Cummins Funeral Home Care Center, next to the funeral home, on Main Street in Hubbard. The groups are lead by Phillip Roland, grief counselor for the funeral home, and are open to anyone who has suffered the loss of a loved one. NAMI Mahoning Valley offers support groups for those who deal with mental illness. Support groups meet as follows: Girard Family Support, first Thursday of each month at 11 a.m. at the Girard Library, 105 E. Prospect St., and Austintown Family Support Group, 7 p.m. the second Tuesday of each month at Alta Care, 142 Javit Court. NAMI Connection, a support group for people with a mental health diagnosis meets at the following locations: 1:30 p.m. Thursdays at the Community Center, 1344 Fifth Ave., Youngstown; 6 p.m. the second and fourth Thursdays at Alta Care in Austintown; and NAMI Connection for the dual diagnosed at 6 p.m. the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month at the Community Center, 1344 Fifth Ave., Youngstown.
