Boardman Community Baseball expands Little League territory
Boardman Community Baseball, under Little League International regulations, has expanded its boundary map to include children attending St. Christine, Kirkmere Elementary and Valley Christian schools in Youngstown for the 2018 season.
St. Charles students have been eligible to play at BCB since 2014.
Previous Little League regulations limited BCB players to live within the boundary map of the league, which previously only included Boardman Local School District.
“This should give many more students who have not had the opportunity a chance to play Little League baseball and softball,” said Chad Miller, BCB president. “By expanding our boundaries, students who attend St. Christine, Kirkmere Elementary and Valley Christian schools can now play at BCB’s Fields of Dreams in the baseball and softball programs regardless of their physical residence.”
Players will be required to verify registration at their respective school.
BCB has baseball programs available for boys who are ages 4-18, with the players age calculated as of Aug. 31, 2018; and softball programs for girls who are ages 4-14 with the age calculated on Dec. 31, 2017. All games are played at the Fields of Dreams, located at 410 McClurg Road in Boardman, a 43-acre complex with 20 fields and two full-service concession stands, owned by Boardman Community Baseball.
Information about BCB registration will be available through the schools in early January.
Visit the BCB website at www.boardmanbaseball.com for information. Easy and secure registration is available online starting Jan. 1, 2018 at www.boardmanbaseball.com. An onsite/online registration day for all ages will take place from 12-3 p.m. on Feb. 10 at the Fields of Dreams.
