Thiel will host events for holiday
Thiel College will host an activist poet, photographer, campus-wide events and student visitors in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Monday. Natasha Miller, slam poet and activist, will perform readings and participate in other activities. Miller also is an LGBTQ activist, film producer and founder of the Artists Inn, Detroit, which is a bed and breakfast providing affordable accommodations and workspace for artists.
John Noltner, photographer and storyteller, will document students’ stories throughout the morning. Noltner also founded the multimedia art project “A Peace of Mind in 2009.” The project fosters public dialogue about issues related to conflict resolution, civic responsibility, and peace.
All attendees Monday and the college community will gather at 2 p.m. in the William A. Passavant Memorial Center where Thiel College will award its inaugural ethical leadership awards to two students.
The Office of Admissions is hosting a visit day to coincide with the campus celebration of history and diversity. For information about the visit day, email email@example.com or call 724-589-2345.
