Princess Charlotte attends her 1st day at nursery school
Kensington Palace has released two images of Princess Charlotte as she began her first day at nursery school.
The 2-year-old is shown on the steps of the palace in one photo and standing holding onto a rail in another. The images were taken by her mother, the Duchess of Cambridge, before Charlotte went to the nearby Willcocks Nursery School in London on Monday.
Charlotte will be a full-time student at the school. It charges just over $4,000 a term for those who attend mornings Monday to Friday.
The daughter of Prince William and his wife, the former Kate Middleton, turns 3 in May. She is fourth in line to the British throne, after grandfather Prince Charles, father William and older brother Prince George.
Loretta Lynn fractures hip after fall at home
Country music icon Loretta Lynn has a fractured hip after a fall at her home in Tennessee.
A statement posted Monday on her website said “she is doing well and thanks all her fans for their thoughts and prayers.” A publicist for Lynn didn’t answer additional questions.
The 85-year-old singer-songwriter suffered a stroke last year that forced her to cancel her tour dates and delay a new album, but she made a surprise appearance at the Country Music Hall of Fame in October for Alan Jackson’s induction.
The Hall of Fame singer is known for her biographical hit “Coal Miner’s Daughter,” which became a book and a movie; “You Ain’t Woman Enough”; ‘’The Pill”; and “One’s on the Way.”
