Company acquires Huntington Building on Courthouse Square

Midwest Ventures & Consulting LLC, a Boardman real-estate investment and management company, has acquired the Huntington Building on Main Avenue Southwest downtown.

“The Huntington Building represents one of the finest office centers in the Mahoning Valley with a rich history,” said Steven R. Lewis, president of MVC. Its first-floor tenant is Huntington Bank.

“The building offers panoramic views of the downtown that include Courthouse Square, the Mahoning River and Perkins Park. In addition, it is rare to find a downtown commercial office building that has all its own parking.”

Plans are still being formulated as to the building’s future, Lewis said.

But he expressed optimism for the downtown’s future because of the investment of individuals such as Mark Marvin of the Downtown Development Group, which owns the Mahoning Building on the other side of Main Avenue Southeast and 10 other downtown buildings, including the Robins Theater.

MVC will serve as property manager for the building, which once housed Second National Bank.

MVC operates other properties including the Sawgrass Apartments in Howland, Turnberry Apartments in Youngstown and Timber Ridge Apartments in Girard.
