Thiel College awards $125,000 scholarships

Thiel College has awarded full tuition scholarships of $125,000 to three high-school seniors: Mitchell Angove, Eisenhower Junior-Senior High School; Sydnee Pilarski, Fox Chapel High School; and Jonathan Russell, DuBois Area High School.

Representatives from the office of admissions recently visited their schools to present the checks representing the financial aid awards as a result of their exceptional academic performance and a scholarship competition.

Angove will major in biology and plans to participate in the Dietrich Honors Institute. At Eisenhower, he is a member of academic bowl, book club, AV club and Environthon.

Pilarski plans to major in integrated marketing communications. At Fox Chapel, she is a member of the AP art program and honors choir.

Russell plans to major in information systems and participate in the Kenneth and Mariana Brown Dietrich Honors Institute. An honor student at Dubois, he is a member of choir, theatre, track and field, cross country, swimming, tennis, student government and peer mediation.
