BOARDMAN

The Mahoning Valley’s first baby of 2018 is Harper Brooks, the daughter of Tiffany and Jason Brooks of Kent.

The couple sought the help of a Canfield doctor after trying more than two years to have a baby.

Harper was born at 1:45 a.m. Monday in St. Elizabeth Boardman Hospital and is 8 pounds, 12 ounces and 21 inches long, according to the Vindicator’s broadcast partner TV-21 WFMJ. Both baby and mother are doing well.

“She’s our miracle baby,” said Tiffany. “I think now our biggest challenge is just going to be trying to figure out how to do this,” she said of being first-time parents.

“We worked really hard to get her here, and now that she’s here I just don’t want to let her go,” Tiffany said. “The nurses keep telling me to sleep, but I don’t want to send her back to the nursery because then I’m not going to be with her.”

Kidnapping charge

WARREN

Timothy J. Lambert, 52, is facing arraignment today in Warren Municipal Court on charges of kidnapping and attempted rape related to allegations that he tried to prevent a woman from leaving his home early Sunday on Blueberry Lane in Warren Township.

The woman, 23, from the city said she and a friend stayed overnight at Lambert’s home in the Villager mobile home park off of Tod Avenue Southwest.

The woman said in the morning when she went into the kitchen Lambert chased her. Her friend tried to protect her, but Lambert shoved him out of the home.

The woman called 911 and escaped the home. Both Lambert and her friend were gone when police arrived. Police arrested Lambert at 11:31 a.m. Sunday during a traffic stop on Pine Street near South Street.
