Kennywood jobs available


The Pittsburgh region’s premier family fun attractions, Kennywood, Sandcastle Waterpark and Idlewild and SoakZone, are now accepting job applications for their summer operating seasons.

Kennywood is the largest youth employer in the area and plans to hire about 1,500 individuals. Idlewild will hire about 800 employees and Sandcastle approximately 400 people. Both those parks are also recruiting lifeguards.

Black history lecture at museum


Leonne Hudson will deliver a free presentation titled “The Reaction of African Americans to Lincoln’s Assassination” at 4 p.m. Thursday at the Youngstown Historical Center of Industry and Labor (the steel museum), 151 W. Wood St.

Hudson is a professor of history at Kent State University. His lecture is part of the History Across the Humanities Conference, a two-day event sponsored by Youngstown State University’s Alpha Gamma Beta chapter of the Phi Alpha Theta National History Honor Society.

‘RENT’ tickets now available


Single tickets are now on sale for the touring production of “RENT,” which will come to Connor Palace March 6-25.
