Township police arrested Joshua Burke, 27, of Boardman on charges of domestic violence and felonious assault over the weekend.
Early Sunday, police met with the woman who explained after a verbal argument with Burke over another man hugging her, Burke slammed her head into the passenger-side window of the car they were in. The incident left the woman with a bloody nose.
Burke denied causing any injury to the woman and said the injuries were self-inflicted, according to the police report.
The woman showed signs of having a seizure, and she was taken to St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital, police said.
Burke is in the Mahoning County jail. He is to appear in Mahoning County Area Court at 8:30 a.m. today.
