Police found several guns and spent shell casings about 2:55 a.m. Friday at a home in the 1400 block of Southwest Boulevard after they were called for a report of an intruder inside.
Officers went to the back door, and a man inside told them several people had broken in. When officers got inside, they saw a man drinking beer who threw a beer can at the wall and said there were several people inside.
Police found no one inside but they did find a 9 mm handgun, a .40-caliber handgun, a machine pistol, a sawed-off shotgun, a .44-caliber revolver and spent shell casings, magazines of ammunition and drug paraphernalia.
The man inside agreed to go with paramedics and be examined by a doctor, reports said. The guns were taken to be tested for evidence. One of the guns had a serial number erased, police said.
