Meeting is rescheduled

A town hall meeting scheduled for Thursday evening to discuss the future of Campbellā€™s water-distribution system was canceled and has been rescheduled for March 8 at city hall, 351 Tenney Ave. Mayor Nick Phillips announced the closure on his official Facebook page Thursday afternoon.

The meeting would have been the third such forum, with discussions centering on whether the city should sell its water distribution system.

The plant is in dire need of upgrades, which city officials estimate will cost tens of millions of dollars, likely generated from taxpayers. Many city residents are uncomfortable selling their system, however, preferring instead to keep the utility under city control.
