Austintown library hosted its first gift tag making event on Dec. 6.

Community members joined librarians Renee Beverly and Cindy Mawhinney to create six different types of gift tags.

Beverly said all supplies were provided by the library.

“We wanted to do something fun for the holidays and this was something new me and Cindy came up with,” Beverly said.

Beverly used a Cricut to cut pieces of scrap book paper for community members to assemble into gift tags.

Mawhinney, who hosts the Stamping with Cindy event at the library, used her expertise to provide interesting stamps and other crafting ideas to make the tags unique.

“It’s just a fun way to get in the holiday spirit and make your gifts a little bit more personal this year,” Beverly said.

Community members in attendance also personalized key chains to take home from the event.

Gift tags designs included elf shirts, abominable snow men, coffee cups and other unique holiday designs.
