Poland Union Elementary School hosted their first ever Donut Day on Nov. 30.
Megan Roemer, the food service director at Union Elementary, organized the event.
“This is a special fun day totally random for the students,” Roemer said.
She explained that once a month the school try’s to host a special event.
“We just try to do something fun for the school and to celebrate the students and the staff here at Union,” Roemer said.
Students went through a line where they were able to build their own doughnuts.
They had the choice between vanilla and chocolate frosting and between two different types of cookie crumbles.
“We’re going to need a power washer to get the chocolate off of the kids’ faces,” said Mike Masucci, the principal at Poland Union.
Students also celebrated the Poland Bulldog’s birthday at the event.
“The Bulldog is turning 115 in dog years,” Masucci said.
Students sang “Happy Birthday” to the beloved mascot while enjoying their doughnuts.
“Next month is going to be Frozen themed,” Roemer said. “It’s a lot of fun every time we do something.”
