v Slovak Fest, noon to 8 p.m.: The Mahoning Valley’s only Slovak festival will feature homecooked food, live polka music ($5) by Jack Vasko and Co. and Del Sinchak, a bake sale and more. It’s at Our Lady of Sorrows parish, 915 Cornell St., Youngstown.

v Warren Italian Fest, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.: Final day of this large festival on Courthouse Square in downtown Warren;

v Shaker Woods Festival, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.: One of the best craft fairs in the entire country, Shaker Woods features curated artisans in period costume, live entertaiment and more on the wooded grounds off County Line Road, just west of state Route 7, one mile north of state Route 14 near Columbiana;

v Franchize Band, 3-7 p.m.: The jazz in the park series continues on the beautiful grounds of B&O Station, 530 Mahoning Ave., near downtown Youngstown.

v Rex Taneri Orchestra, 6 p.m.: A free concert in Harding Park, 249 Roosevelt Drive, Hubbard.

“Teen Choice 2018” (8 p.m., Fox): This two-hour live event will honor the year’s best films, most loved TV shows and fiercest music, as well as the top moments in fashion, digital and comedy, with the coveted Surfboard Awards. Nick Cannon will host, with Lele Pons as co-host. Khalid will perform a special medley of hit songs.

“Claws” (9 p.m., TNT): As a hurricane bears down on Palmetto, a steely Desna (Niecy Nash) proceeds with the plans for her wedding day, keen for the opportunity to settle all scores. Opposing forces converge at a lavish golf resort, each determined to prevail against the others, but will Desna and crew survive the storm?

“Fear the Walking Dead” (9 p.m., AMC): In the season four midseason premiere, Morgan tries to help Alicia and the fractured group of survivors as a storm brews.

“Insecure” (10 p.m., HBO): Starring Issa Rae and Yvonne Orji, the show follows the friendship of two black women as they deal with their own real-life flaws while attempting to navigate different worlds and cope with an endless series of uncomfortable everyday experiences. Tonight’s episode is the season 3 premiere.

Hop Harvest fest at Lamppost Farm


Lamppost Farm, 14900 Market St., and Birdfish Brewing Co. will present and host the Hop Harvest Festival on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

“Beyond the hops we harvest for Birdfish use, this event showcases the heart and soul of both the brewery and farm – providing locally produced, high-quality products in ways that build community through enjoying time with loved ones,” said Lamppost spokesperson Melanie Montgomery.

The free-admission event will include samplings of Birdfish Brewing Co. brews for purchase; cob-oven pizzas and grilled meats ($10/serving); family-friendly activities, including hayrides, disc golf, bull chip bingo, and yard game tournaments; and live music.
