The Jim Frank combo played a concert at Mauthe Park on June 28. The concert was part of the Mill Creek Park concert with assistance from the city of Struthers. Making up the Jim Frank combo are Jim Frank on the accordion, Bill Gonda on the Drums and Joe Commarata on the Trumpet.
The band plays a mix of music including both polka and covers of Frank Sinatra.
The members of the band have been together for more than 45-years and are all retired school teachers. They play at a variety of locations in the area.
“We always love to come out and hear music here,” said Bill Stanton, who attended the event. “We have heard them play a few times in the area.”
The series will continue every Thursday at 7 p.m., but will move to different locations.
