Spiritual book club will host meeting

The Ursuline Center Spiritual Book Club offers an opportunity for spiritual seekers to read, reflect, and share in the discussion of spiritual books that explore the writings of the great spiritual thinkers, both contemporary and classic.

This club is for anyone who wants to nurture his or her spiritual life. The next meeting will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Ursuline Center, 4280 Shields Road. The first few chapters of “Things Hidden, Scripture as Spirituality” by Richard Rohr, will be discussed.

Lepper Library will host book sale

LISBON

Lepper Library, 303 E. Lincoln Way, will host a book sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday and Friday. There will be a wide selection of adult, teen and children’s books, audios and DVDs. The prices will be as follows: hardbacks 50 cents, paperbacks 25 cents, audios & DVDs $1, all children’s books 25 cents and magazines are free with any purchase. Participants should enter at the garage off of Vine Street.

DeWine announces student ambassadors

Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine recently announced that more than 300 students representing 52 Ohio counties have been named to his office’s Teen Ambassador Board for the upcoming school year.

The participants represent more than 160 schools throughout the state. The mission of the board is to provide Ohio’s future leaders with an inside look at law and government.

The board is open to high school juniors and seniors from public, private, home, charter and online schools located in the state. Members advise the Attorney General’s office on issues relating to teens and they work with their peers to develop solutions. Local students named to board include: Brayden Yocum, Leetonia High School; Matthew Courtney, United Local; Daniel Turillo, Boardman; Nicolina Aiad-Toss, Cardinal Mooney; Dominic Scandy, Jackson Milton; Dominic DeRamo, Canfield; Alexander Stoneman, Ursuline; Kelsey Tingler, Hubbard; Addison Wilson, Lordstown; Gillian McMahan, Mineral Ridge; and Isabella Nogales and Sydney Pearce, LaBrae.
