Needed is an actress, approximately mid-50s, for the role of Emma, Ulysses’ ex-wife of 20 years. An urbane, often fierce, always protective New Englander, Emma is a fighter in times of trouble and a dedicated anti-sentimentalist in times of peace. Also needed is an an actor, approximately mid-50s to play Ulysses, an expert at gleeful, devil-may-care self-denial. “Guys and Dolls.” Easy Street Productions and Youngstown Symphony Orchestra Music Director Randall Craig Fleischer are seeking actors and actresses 16 years and older for the 2018-19 season at the DeYor Performing Arts Center. Auditions will take place Aug. 13 from 6 to 9 p.m. Titles include a semi-staged concert version of the Broadway musical “Guys and Dolls” on Feb. 16. Other titles being considered include “Little Shop of Horrors” and “The Little Mermaid,” as well as guest soloists for upcoming symphony concerts. Auditionees must prepare 32 bars of a song that best showcases your vocal range and ability. An accompanist will be provided. It is strongly encouraged that all auditionees bring sheet music in the correct key for the accompanist. A cappella singing is permitted. Auditions will take place in the Ford Family Recital Hall at the DeYor, 260 W. Federal St., downtown. If you do not have a current photo and resume, audition forms will be provided and can be filled out the night of the audition.
