Fairhaven School to host 8th annual Special Olympics golf outing
The Fairhaven School is preparing to host its 8th annual golf outing Sept. 8 at Knoll Run Golf Course. The outing, hosted in collaboration with the Special Olympics, will raise funds in support of the school and the Fairhaven Special Olympians.
Registration will begin at 8 a.m. with a shotgun start following at 9 a.m. The golfing fee will be $70 per person and includes, lunch, dinner and prizes.
“We look forward to this outing every year,” said Principal Rosanne Morell. “There are a lot of great prizes for everyone involved, and I am always impressed with the level of respect, fun and competition the golfers bring to the event.”
Monies raised from the outing will be used for future development at the Fairhaven School. Additionally, a portion of the proceeds will benefit Fairhaven School Special Olympians. This year’s contribution to the Special Olympics will help support the golf team as they compete at the state tournament later this month.
Those interested in further supporting the outing by sponsorship or donation can choose to sponsor a hole for $50, donate to the auction or make a monetary contribution.
Sponsors and donors are asked to make checks payable to Fairhaven Foundation with “School Outing” in the memo. Mail registration and payment should be sent to Fairhaven Playground Committee, 420 Lincoln Way in Niles, Ohio 44446. For more information, call Rosanne Morell or Carol Kirsch at 330-652-5811.
“We cannot thank everyone who participates in, donates or sponsors this event enough,” said Morell. “The level of support these outings continue to receive is so important to the Fairhaven School and the Special Olympians. The participants really make this event special for the entire Trumbull County community.”
