Springfield booster club committee launches website for fundraising
NEW SPRINGFIELD — A committee with the Springfield Local Athletic Booster Club has launched a new website to promote a fundraising campaign for improvements to the school district’s sports complex – bit.ly/SpringfieldStadiumTurfProject.
The goal is to raise money through private donations and permanent improvement funds to install an all-weather turf field starting in May.
No income tax or general-fund money will be used for the project.
Benefits of adding a turf playing surface to the stadium include overall savings in field maintenance costs and allowing the school to host tournament games, in both football and soccer, which could benefit local businesses.
Four sponsorship levels, ranging from $1,000 to $50,000 or more are available, and some come with stadium recognition and an end zone display.
