Darker than normal in downtown Youngstown

YOUNGSTOWN — Power along parts of Front Street have been out since early today as Ohio Edison works on system improvements, including replacing a transformer at the intersection of Front West Federal and Market streets, an Ohio Edison spokesman said tonight.

The power should be back on before 10:30 p.m.

Customers were notified the power would be out temporarily before Ohio Edison began making upgrades, the spokesman said.

There are stop signs at the intersections on Front Street where the power is out, and drivers should treat it as a four-way stop. A police officer is overseeing traffic.
