Autism Society plans 5K, fun walk


The Autism Society of Mahoning Valley’s fifth annual Valley Autism 5K run and third-annual Family Fun Walk will take place April 28 at Austintown Township Park, 600 Kirk Road. Registration, Special A resource fair and children’s entertainment starts at 8 a.m., and the 5K starts at 9 a.m., followed by a one-mile walk at 10 a.m. Race registrations and additional information are available at or by calling 330-333-9609.

Medals will be awarded to the top runners in each age category, top overall male and female in 5K walk category, as well as prizes for top fundraising teams. There will be a DJ, bounce house, petting zoo, pony rides, mini obstacle course, balloon artist and a photo booth.

Model railroad flea market set


The Youngstown Model Railroad Association will present the Toy Train and Model Railroad Flea Market from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Sunday at the Salem Center Plex, 1098 N. Ellsworth Ave. Admission is $5.

Items in all gauges of model railroad equipment, memorabilia and other railroad related items will be for sale. There will be more than 230 dealer tables and unlimited paved parking.
