School security given as reason for moving Mahoning County polling places

YOUNGSTOWN — The Mahoning County Board of Elections is moving the locations of a number of polling places, including a number out of schools for safety reasons.

Director Joyce Kale-Pesta said she was “concerned” about potential safety risks having voters in hallways with students or have the same entrance as students.

“It’s a safety measure for schools,” she said.
